6.194

六欲天者，地天別有脩羅鬪戰之難，通有五衰死相苦等地獄。其中諸天，先世善根，可發關宜。聖人赴對應之，令獲冥、顯兩益也。

As for the six heavens of the desire realm, the terrestrial gods additionally suffer the adversity of fighting with the asuras; and generally they have the hell-like suffering of the five signs of decay and death. If the gods therein have wholesome roots from prior lives that can be stimulated when conditions are fitting, the sages respond accordingly, causing them to obtain both hidden and manifest benefits.
