若約體用明本迹者，指用為迹，攝得最初感應、神通、說法、眷屬、利益等五妙。指體為本，攝得最初三法妙也。

If clarifying the original source and the traces in terms of substance and function: designating function as traces encompasses the initial five subtleties of stimulus and response, spiritual powers, preaching the Dharma, retinue, and benefit; designating substance as the original source encompasses the initial three subtle dharmas.
