二、發心真正者，既識無明顛倒，流轉行識，乃至老死，如旋火輪，欲休息結業，正求涅槃，發二乘心，出離見愛，不要名利，但破諸有，不增長苦集，唯志無餘，其心清淨，不雜不偽，此心真正，名正發心，不同外道天魔也。

Second, truly giving rise to the aspiration: having recognized the inversion of ignorance, circulating through formations and consciousness down to old age and death like a whirling firebrand, one wishes to rest defilements and karma, directly seek nirvāṇa, give rise to the mind of the two vehicles, transcend views and craving, not seeking fame or gain, merely destroying all existences, not increasing suffering and origin, aspiring solely to remainderless [nirvāṇa]; one's mind is pure, unmixed, and unfeigned. This mind is true and correct, termed correctly giving rise to the aspiration, differing from non-Buddhists and heavenly Māras.
