The Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says: 'The single real truth is without duality; because it is without duality, it is called the single real truth. Furthermore, the single real truth is named without falsehood; furthermore, the single real truth is without inversion; furthermore, the single real truth is not spoken by Māra; furthermore, the single real truth is called permanence, bliss, self, and purity.' Permanence, bliss, self, and purity are without the differences of emptiness, provisionality, and the middle. If there were differences, they would be dual; being dual, they would not be the single real truth. The single real truth is identical to emptiness, identical to the provisional, and identical to the middle, without difference and without duality, and is therefore called the single real truth. If there were three differences, it would be false; a false dharma is not called the single real truth; because there are no three differences, it is the single real truth. If there were differences, then inversions would not yet be destroyed, and it would not be the single real truth; because there are no three differences, there are no inversions, and because there are no inversions, it is called the single real truth. What has differences is not called the single vehicle; when the three dharmas are not different and are fully complete and perfect, it is called the single vehicle. This vehicle is high and broad, adorned with many jewels, and is therefore called the single real truth.
