覆三顯一者，此就權巧多端，前權前度，但除其病，不除其法，法不除故，擬化後緣，若破此法，後何所用？機息則覆，機興則用，何但佛爾，入實菩薩亦然。若有不信此法，於餘深法中，示教利喜（云云）。

'Concealing the three and revealing the one' concerns the manifold nature of provisional skillfulness. In previous provisionals and previous deliverances, only their illnesses are eliminated, not their teachings. Because the teachings are not eliminated, they are retained to transform future conditions; if one were to destroy these teachings, what would be used later? When the capacity ceases, they are concealed; when the capacity arises, they are used. How could it be only the Buddha who does so? Bodhisattvas who have entered reality are also like this: 'If there are those who do not believe this Dharma, among other profound Dharmas, show, teach, benefit, and gladden them' (and so on).
