廢迹顯本者，亦就說法。昔為五濁障重，不得遠說本地，但示迹中近成。今障除機動，須廢道樹王城迹中之說，皆是方便。執近之心既斷，封近之教亦息。文云：「自從是來，我常在此娑婆世界說法教化，亦於餘處百千萬億那由他阿僧祇國導利眾生。」即是廢一期之迹教，顯久遠之本說也。

'Abolishing the traces and revealing the original source' likewise concerns the preaching of Dharma. Formerly, because the five turbidities were heavy hindrances, the original ground could not be spoken of distantly; he merely displayed recent attainment among the traces. Now that hindrances are removed and capacities are activated, the teachings delivered among the traces at the tree of awakening and the royal city must be abolished as being entirely expedients. When the mind grasping to the near is severed, the teachings confining one to the near also cease. The text says: 'Ever since then, I have constantly been in this sahā world preaching the Dharma and teaching, and also in other places among hundreds of thousands of ten-thousands of millions of nayutas of asaṃkhyeya lands guiding and benefiting sentient beings.' This is precisely abolishing the trace teachings of a single teaching period and revealing the original preaching of long remote past.
