今日得悟，由昔彈訶，但功屬此經，名非彼得。譬如百人共圍一賊，而攻圍之力實賴眾人，能擒賊者得勳，不屬百人（云云）。

Attaining awakening today is due to past scolding and rebuke, yet the credit belongs to this sūtra; the renown is not gained by those [former teachings]. For example, when a hundred men surround a single bandit, the power of attack and encirclement truly relies on everyone, but the one who can capture the bandit receives the merit, which does not belong to the hundred men (and so forth).
