三、麁妙者，藏、通，信、法真，似橫竪諸行，以傍實相為體，體行俱麁。別，信、法真，似橫竪諸行，雖依別門，用正實相為體，因無常故，而果是常，行麁體妙。圓，信、法真，似橫竪，依圓門正體，體行俱妙。歷五味明麁妙可知（云云）。

Third, regarding the crude and the subtle: in the Tripiṭaka and shared teachings, true and resembling, horizontal and vertical practices take the secondary real mark as their substance; both substance and practice are crude. In the distinctive teaching, true and resembling, horizontal and vertical practices, although relying on a distinctive portal, take the primary real mark as their substance; because the cause is impermanent while the fruit is permanent, the practice is crude while the substance is subtle. In the perfect teaching, true and resembling, horizontal and vertical practices rely on the primary substance of the perfect portal; both substance and practice are subtle. Tracing through the five flavors, the crude and subtle can be understood, and so forth.
