△大章第三、明宗。宗者，修行之喉衿，顯體之要蹊，如梁柱持屋，結網綱維，提維則目動，梁安則桷存。釋宗為五：一、簡宗體。二、正明宗。三、眾經同異。四、明麁妙。五、結因果。

Major Section Three: Clarifying the Central Purport. The central purport is the throat and collar of cultivation, the essential path for revealing the substance, like the beams and pillars supporting a house, or the main cord and mesh of a net: pull the main cord and the meshes open; fix the beams and the rafters stay secure. Explaining the central purport has five parts: 1. Distinguishing the central purport and substance; 2. Directly clarifying the central purport; 3. Identity and difference among the various sūtras; 4. Clarifying the crude and the subtle; 5. Concluding with cause and effect.
