"Unconstructed" [truths]: because delusion regarding the middle is light, it receives its name from principle. Because of delusion regarding principle, bodhi is affliction, which is named the truth of accumulation; nirvāṇa is saṃsāra, which is named the truth of suffering. Because of being able to understand, affliction is precisely bodhi, which is named the truth of the path; saṃsāra is precisely nirvāṇa, which is named the truth of cessation. It is precisely phenomena and the middle, devoid of thought and devoid of deliberation, with no one constructing anything; therefore it is named "unconstructed." The Great Sūtra states: "Conventional truth is precisely the ultimate truth. Possessing skillful expedients, in accordance with sentient beings, one speaks of there being two truths. Those who transcend the world know that it is precisely the ultimate truth." The one real truth is non-illusory, non-inverted, permanent, blissful, self, pure, and so forth; therefore these are named the unconstructed four noble truths.
