"Immeasurable" [truths]: because delusion regarding the middle is heavy, it receives its name from phenomena. Suffering has immeasurable marks, because the fruits of the ten dharma realms are not the same. Accumulation has immeasurable marks, because the afflictions of the five entrenchments are not the same. The path has immeasurable marks, because the buddha-dharmas [as numerous as] the sands of the Ganges are not the same. Cessation has immeasurable marks, because the various pāramitās are not the same. The Great Sūtra states: "Knowing the suffering of the aggregates is called intermediate wisdom. Distinguishing the aggregates as having immeasurable marks is not what is known by śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas. In that sūtra I did not expound it at all." The other three are also like this. These are named the immeasurable four noble truths.
