Furthermore, the marks of the six destinies indicate the suffering of samsāra. The marks of the two vehicles indicate the bliss of nirvāṇa. The marks of the buddha realm indicate neither samsāra nor nirvāṇa, but the eternity, bliss, self, and purity of the Middle Way; therefore it is said that the buddha realm is the most unsurpassed. Furthermore, the four destinies indicate evil; humans and devas indicate good; the two vehicles indicate uncontaminated good; bodhisattvas and buddhas indicate non-contaminated and non-uncontaminated good; therefore the buddha realm is the most unsurpassed. Furthermore, the six destinies indicate dharmas produced from causes and conditions in the realms of existence; the two vehicles indicate identical to emptiness; bodhisattvas indicate identical to the provisional; the Buddha indicates identical to emptiness, identical to the provisional, and identical to the middle; therefore the buddha realm is the most unsurpassed. Furthermore, the four destinies only indicate evil and cannot indicate good. The marks of humans and devas only indicate good and cannot indicate evil. The two vehicles only indicate the uncontaminated and do not combine good and evil. The marks of the Buddha combine and indicate all marks. If one understands the marks of the Buddha, one universally understands all marks; for this reason the buddha realm is the most unsurpassed. Therefore the Collection of the Worthies and Sages says: 'The intermediate existence of the hells only sees the hells and cannot know the higher destinies. The intermediate existence of devas can know devas and those below.' Their marks indicate this, which is not called correct and universal knowledge. The Buddha's marks indicate correct and universal knowledge. Since the Buddha's wisdom universally knows all marks, the scriptural teachings should preach them universally.
