「又簡」下本門也。通簡迹中一切因果若橫若豎，俱非本故。「取意」下，次簡取，先本、次迹。取中先明本者，承前簡却迹文之後便拂迹以簡本，承簡迹之後取本便故，故在前明也。「久遠」者，必指壽量塵點方顯實本。「如此」下明功能。

From "Further setting apart" onward concerns the origin gate. It comprehensively sets apart all causes and effects in the traces, whether horizontal or vertical, as neither belongs to the origin. From "The intent of adopting" onward, next is setting apart and adopting: first the origin, next the traces. In adopting, first clarifying the origin: following upon the preceding text that rejected the traces, it immediately sweeps away the traces to distinguish the origin. Because it is convenient to take up the origin after having set apart the traces, it is therefore clarified first. "Immeasurably distant" must point to the dust motes of the "Lifespan" chapter before the real origin is revealed. From "Such" onward clarifies the function.
