列中三意者，前之兩意約迹門，後之一意約本門。三中云「分別」者，分別既是教相同異，教相既通分別義遍，即是分別融不融等乃至遠近。

As for the three intentions in the listing: the first two intentions are in terms of the trace gate, and the last intention is in terms of the origin gate. The word 'differentiating' in the third [intention] means that since differentiating is the similarities and differences in the doctrinal characteristics, and since doctrinal characteristics are comprehensive, the meaning of differentiating is pervasive—that is, differentiating what is blended and what is not blended, and so forth, down to the distant and recent.
