「猶恨緣淺」下明私記緣起。今雖欲記，但恨一聞而已，屬大師滅度不獲重聞，諮決無從如犢思乳。

From 'Still lamenting shallow affinity' downward clarifies the origins of the private record. Although he wishes to record it now, he only laments having heard it but once; coinciding with the Great Master's nirvāṇa, he could not hear it again, lacking any means to resolve doubts, like a calf yearning for milk.
