次難第五時，亦先牒計，次正破。譬云「佷㑦」者，兩字本為一義，謂諍競不順，今隨語便，故分字釋。結及更難用四三二時，可見。

Next, refuting the fifth period also first cites the proposition, and then proceeds to the refutation proper. In the analogy, 'stubborn and intractable' (henli): the two characters originally have a single meaning, denoting contentious and non-compliant; now, following linguistic convenience, the characters are explained separately. The conclusion and the further refutation of using four, three, or two periods can be seen.
