次為人中四：初名異，次「論云」下引證，文似單證化主，意兼行者所宜，聽不聽屬化主，宜不宜屬行者。三「如金師」下引事，「金師之子」等如《止觀》第五記。四「經舉」下應必待機故以機釋應。

Next, under [the siddhānta for] the person, there are four: first, the difference in names; second, from "The treatise says" onward, citing proof—the text seems to prove solely the transforming master, but its intent combines the practitioner's suitability: listening or not listening belongs to the transforming master, while suitability or unsuitability belongs to the practitioner; third, from "Like the goldsmith" onward, citing the incident—"the son of the goldsmith" and so forth are as recorded in the fifth fascicle of the Zhiguan; fourth, from "The sūtra adduces" onward, response necessarily awaits capacity, so capacity is used to explain response.
