《末陀摩經》中自注云：「末者莫義，陀摩者中義，莫著中道名末陀摩。」釋之可見。
A note in the *Madhyama-sūtra* itself states: '*Ma* means "do not"; *dhyama* means "middle." Not clinging to the middle way is named *madhyama*.' Explaining it, it can be understood.
