Next, the middle wisdom has three parts: first, tracing causes and fruits; second, initiating contemplation; third, concluding. The first text is very brief, saying that contemplating feeling derives from contact, and so forth up to ignorance; the rest is as explained in the Tripiṭaka Teaching. Next, in initiating contemplation, there are two: first, arising; second, perishing. First, in arising, there are three: first, contemplating past causes as capable of bringing about present fruits like an illusion; second, from "now penetrating" down, contemplating present causes as capable of bringing about future fruits like an illusion, summarizing the preceding text, hence saying "the three times"; third, from "those with wisdom" down, citing persons to parallel the Dharma. Next, from "ignorance" down, contemplating perishing is the perishing of seeds and fruits. The third part, conclusion, is as in the text.
