The first section in general terms has four parts: first, relating the intention, which aims at a brief presentation to make the general outline known; second, the direct explanation below 'The commentary...'; third, clarifying inconceivable mutual guidance, mutual generation, and so forth below 'Although practice...'; fourth, concluding with praise below 'If one attains this...'. The first two passages can only enumerate numbers, not be called 'complete.' In the third passage, 'the needle guides the thread' is a passage from fascicle thirty-three of the Da zhidu lun. 'The driver guides the ox' is a passage from fascicle twenty of the Da zhidu lun. This means that, having grasped the preceding intention, one uses inconceivable wisdom to reveal inconceivable practice and reach the inconceivable principle; therefore, the subsequent text says 'wisdom is like the caravan leader,' and so on, which differs from the preceding merely by relying on the inconceivable.
