Next, within the analysis there are two [parts]: first, question-and-answer analysis; second, synthesis. In the first text there are again two: first, the question; second, in the answer, citing the *Lotus Sūtra*'s statement "the four intentions are fully complete": the four-line verse below "demolishing existence" in the third fascicle of the sūtra possesses the four intentions in full: the first two lines, "demolishing existence" and so forth, are the intention of counteraction; the one line and two lines below "following sentient beings..." are the worldly intention; the one line below "those with wisdom..." is the individual intention; the one line below "therefore..." is the ultimate truth intention; therefore the previous text established names through the four Siddhāntas. "Again, using this text to interpret the four meanings of the various samādhis": the existence that is demolished is the faults and afflictions of the states of existence; that which can demolish is the merit of the fundamental dharma; the Dharma King is concluding the completion of practice; following sentient beings' desires is demolishing existence through loving-kindness and compassion. Next, citing the *Nirvāṇa [Sūtra]* clarifying the bodhisattva's demolition of existence, etc., to achieve synthesis: first, the distinction between cause and fruit of Buddha and bodhisattva; second, the bodhisattva manifests sequential practice, while the Buddha manifests non-sequential practice.
