1.59

「住」者，能住住所住，所住即是忍土王城，能住即是四威儀，住世未滅，此則世界因緣釋住也。又住者，住十善道、住四禪中，此即為人因緣釋住也。又住者，住三三昧，對治因緣釋住。又住者，住首楞嚴，即是第一義因緣釋住（云云）。

As for "dwelt" (住): the agent of dwelling and the place of dwelling. The place of dwelling is the royal city of the Saha World (endurance land); the agent of dwelling is the four deportments, dwelling in the world not yet extinguished. This is explaining "dwelling" through worldly causes and conditions. Furthermore, "dwelling" is dwelling in the ten virtuous paths or dwelling in the four dhyānas; this is explaining "dwelling" through individual adaptation causes and conditions. Furthermore, "dwelling" is dwelling in the three samādhis; this explains "dwelling" through counteractive causes and conditions. Furthermore, "dwelling" is dwelling in the Śūraṅgama [samādhi]; this is explaining "dwelling" through paramārtha-satya causes and conditions (and so on).
