第四、從「說是」下，發益之文也。一、聞品益，「旋陀羅尼」是初地位，「具普賢道」是十地位；二、聞經益，「大眾歡喜」是也。「歡喜」如前說。此中云何猶稱聲聞？乃是經家存其本位耳。又經家稱其是大乘聲聞，以佛道聲令一切聞，斯義彌顯也。

Fourth, from "when this was expounded" downward is the text on the arising of benefits. First, the benefit of hearing the chapter: "turning dhāraṇī" is the stage of the first bhūmi; "fulfilling the path of Samantabhadra" is the stage of the tenth bhūmi. Second, the benefit of hearing the sūtra: "the great assembly rejoiced" is this. "Rejoiced" is as explained before. Why are śrāvakas still named here? It is merely that the compiler preserves their original status. Moreover, the compiler calls them Mahāyāna śrāvakas, who cause all to hear by means of the voice of the Buddha path; this meaning becomes all the more apparent.
