10.59

如來者，上釋竟。「神」名不測，「力」名幹用，不測則天然之體深，幹用則轉變之力大，此中為付囑深法，現十種大力，故名「神力品」。自此品下凡有八品，是付囑、流通。今品明菩薩受命弘經，次品如來摩頂付累。

'Tathāgata' has already been explained above. 'Supernatural' (shen) means unfathomable; 'power' (li) means capable function. Being unfathomable, the natural essence is profound; being capable function, the transforming power is great. Here, in order to entrust the profound Dharma, ten kinds of great power are manifested; hence it is called 'Chapter on Supernatural Powers'. From this chapter downward, there are eight chapters in total, which are the entrustment and transmission. The present chapter clarifies the bodhisattvas receiving the command to propagate the sūtra; the next chapter is the Tathāgata rubbing the crowns of their heads to entrust it.
