「跋陀婆羅」者，此言善守，亦云賢守。《思益》云：「若眾生聞名者，畢定得三菩提，故名善守。」
'Bhadrapāla': here translated as Good Guardian, or Virtuous Guardian. The Siyi jing says: 'If sentient beings hear his name, they are certain to attain sambodhi; therefore he is named Good Guardian.'
