7.66

「寶處在近，向者大城我所化作」，即舉廢權譬，以帖顯實譬也。上云「如來智慧難信難解，是諸人等應以是法漸入佛慧」，擬方便中云「我令脫苦縛逮得涅槃」者，佛以方便力示以三乘教也。

“The jewel place is near; the great city from before was conjured by me” presents the parable of abolishing the expedient to attach to the parable of revealing the real. Above it says, “The Tathāgata’s wisdom is difficult to believe and difficult to understand; these people should gradually enter the Buddha’s wisdom through this Dharma,” corresponding to the statement in “Expedient Means”, “I cause them to be freed from the bondage of suffering and to attain nirvāṇa,” which means the Buddha uses the power of expedient means to show them the three-vehicle teaching.
