Regarding the contemplation of mind: the contemplation of emptiness is prajñā, the contemplation of the provisional is liberation, and the contemplation of the middle is the Dharma-body. Furthermore, regarding contemplation of mind: entering emptiness from the provisional, the contemplation also has three meanings; up to the Middle Way contemplation, slaying the foe of ignorance, not giving rise to the mind of the two vehicles, and offering to such a person is like making offerings to the World-Honoured One. The Vaipulya says: ‘Offering to the Buddha and Mañjuśrī is not as good as giving a single meal to fill the body of one who practices the Vaipulya teachings.’ A later text says: ‘The sin and merit of slandering or praising the Buddha are light, while the sin and merit of slandering or praising one who upholds this sūtra are heavy.’ Why is this? The Buddha has no conceptualization of food and has long been free of the eight winds, being unaffected by detriment or benefit; giving to one who upholds the sūtra preserves their physical body, sustains their retributive life, gives birth to the Dharma-body, and increases their life of wisdom, hence there is benefit; slandering them causes sorrow, affliction, regression, and remorse, and if they lose the auspicious moment they cannot be saved, hence causing great detriment (and so on).
