次問答中有人不許滅後色經，唯云名句屬於行蘊，若其全不許見，經初盡合改聞，當知皆先眼耳所得，次方流入想行。若使一字一、聲眼耳二識不俱，則名句文皆不成就，和合之言不可欺也。

Next, in the questions and answers, someone does not accept that the sūtras after [the Buddha's] parinirvāṇa are form, saying only that names and phrases belong to the aggregate of formations. If one entirely denies that they are seen, then at the beginning of the sūtras, all should be changed to 'heard'. One should know that all are first apprehended by eye and ear, and only then flow into conception and formations. If a single character or a single sound were not simultaneous with the two consciousnesses of eye and ear, then names, phrases, and characters would all fail to be established; the expression 'conjunction' cannot be trifled with.
