「師子奮迅未來永永」者，奮迅具二義，左右如現前却如未，故下疏文云「釋此句者應具二解，即現未也」。今存後解故云未來，前存前解故云現在。「譬大樹」者，總譬前三節為拂遊中本迹故也。言「云云」者，以易解故不復合喻。

"The lion's swift pounce stretches on and on into the future": "swift pounce" possesses two meanings: looking left and right is like the present, looking back is like the future. Therefore the sub-commentary below says: "In interpreting this sentence, one should possess two explanations, namely present and future." Here the latter explanation is retained, hence it says "the future"; earlier the former explanation was retained, hence it said "the present." "Metaphor of the great tree": it broadly compares the previous three sections in order to brush away the origin and traces within wanderings. The word "and so forth" means that because it is easy to understand, the metaphor is not matched again in full.
