言「甚廣」者，一須大師所說，二謂所攝意多。況今經如是，須歷八教以明四悉，方顯今經唯一如是第一義悉，故云甚廣。又諸家異釋動即三四紙來，多在因緣而第一義尚少，況復約教、本迹等耶？

Regarding the words “extremely broad”: first, it must be expounded by the Great Master; second, it means that many points are included within it. How much more so since the “thus” (evaṃ) of the present sūtra requires traversing the eight teachings to clarify the four siddhāntas, only then revealing that the present sūtra possesses exclusively the single “thus” of the supreme-truth siddhānta; hence it is called “extremely broad.” Furthermore, the variant interpretations of the various masters readily run to three or four sheets of paper, yet mostly dwell on causes and conditions while the supreme truth remains scarce—how much less [do they treat] the classification of teachings, origin and traces, and so on?
