10.145

前為自行身盡入滅，今為弘法令物會三，故云「令無數」等，既言無數聲聞發菩提心，故知喜見於佛滅後不令此等住於小果，此土亦然。

Previously, it was for his own practice: his body was consumed and he entered extinction. Now, it is to propagate the Dharma and cause beings to converge the three [vehicles]; hence it says "caused countless..." and so forth. Since it says countless śrāvakas gave rise to the bodhi-mind, we know that after the Buddha's extinction, Sarvasattvapriyadarśana did not allow them to abide in the lesser fruit; it is also thus in this land.
