Subduing the shared is at the beginning, hence it says 'the beginning of subduing'; it is worthy but not universal, hence 'neither summit nor all-pervading'. Therefore, from 'Neighboring the beginning' downward, it treats it in terms of the stage of the initial abode: being at the beginning of the ten abodes, it is not the subsequent ultimate; the ten grounds only sever forty grades completely, not the ultimate of severing and subduing, so we know this is not the meaning of Samantabhadra. The fourfold classification according to stages directly determines it: first, directly determining; next, citing the *Treatise* (*Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa*) to substantiate the perfect ultimate, where the *Treatise* cites the text of the *Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra*. 'Possessing the four siddhāntas, and so forth': they are not listed in advance; the four texts themselves are them. Regarding 'As he departs' and so forth: departing and moving merely express coming and going. 'As' means not accumulating first and raining later, nor keeping in store first and playing later; hence it is compared to the dragon's rain. This is brought about by mind power, Dharma power, sentient beings' power, responsive transformation power, and inconceivable power. Regarding 'Briefly using two powers': majesty and supernatural power have already been listed above; the four such as sovereignty represent the four virtues. Now sovereignty and fame are omitted, merely because two encompass two. Since the sūtra text says 'Together with immeasurable [beings], each manifesting two powers', one should know that all those who follow are dharmakāyas. Host and retinue both possess the four virtues, which is why it says 'each'. Since this text is at the end of the transmission section, the words expressing the desire to hear make a dual request for both the main body and the transmission.
