大法表此土開顯，法義表彼此道同，此照於彼、彼同於此，故云「演」也。並一代所無，信答問有在。

"Great Dharma" represents the opening and revealing in this land; "Dharma-meaning" represents that the paths of this and that are the same. This illuminates that, and that is identical to this; therefore it says "expound". Both are absent elsewhere in the [Buddha's] entire lifetime; truly, the answer and the question have their points.
