The first text explains 'other' in two parts: first an explanation, and next a judgment. The first explanation: looking from the small to the great from the perspective of the people of the two vehicles constitutes 'other.' The subsequent judgment: although it previously took the great as 'other' from the perspective of the two vehicles, it was not yet known what body this great originally employed; now it is therefore judged that it is the dharmakāya. Next, explaining 'day': using the provisional and real on the ground of the dharmakāya, the real is self, and the provisional is other; in the dharma of the two vehicles, there is no wisdom of the dharmakāya, so it is called 'other.' Under 'if from,' it judges: if from the dharmakāya one uses provisional wisdom with respect to the people of the two vehicles, it is also called 'other'; this 'other' must point to the provisional wisdom of the Buddha.
