8.89

「行如來事」下釋所遣事，先約自行釋事，佛無他事唯專照理。次「今日」下我今唯行如來之事，真如是理、照即名事。「一如智」下約化他釋，如來利物由境智合，還說此理以為化事，故知大悲還依如理照如說如，名如來事。「今日」下依此利他名行佛事。「佛則平等惡不干逼等」者。

Under "performing the Tathāgata's work": explaining the work dispatched. First, explaining the work in terms of one's own practice: the Buddha has no other work, only exclusively illuminating the principle. Next, under "today": I now perform only the Tathāgata's work; True Suchness is the principle, and illumination is precisely termed the work. Under "one suchness and wisdom": explained in terms of transforming others. The Tathāgata benefits beings through the union of realm and wisdom, and reiterates this principle as the work of conversion; thus one knows that great compassion is based upon the principle of suchness, illuminating suchness and preaching suchness, which is termed the Tathāgata's work. Under "today": based on this, benefiting others is termed performing the Buddha's work. Under "the Buddha is impartial, evil cannot obstruct or oppress, and so forth":
