二者歎能化功德。今未解者開悟、已曉者進德，故說是經。故經云「如來復有無量功德，汝等若於無量億劫說不能盡」也。

Second is praising the merit of the one capable of transforming. So that those who have not yet understood may attain awakening, and those who are already enlightened may advance in virtue, he therefore preaches this sūtra. Thus the sūtra states: "The Tathāgata furthermore possesses immeasurable merit; if you were to speak of it for immeasurable kotis of kalpas, you could not exhaust it."
