七者智斷一雙。觀音即是菩薩智慧，謂之智德；普門即是斷德。《大經》云「隨所調伏眾生之處名為解脫」。今亦爾，遍度眾生令一切解脫，乃是斷德。不如二乘之人，自無煩惱名為解脫也。

Seventh is the pair of wisdom and eradication. "Guanyin" is the bodhisattva's wisdom, called the virtue of wisdom; "Universal Gate" is the virtue of eradication. The Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says: "Wherever sentient beings are subdued is called liberation." Here it is also like this: universally delivering sentient beings and causing all to attain liberation is indeed the virtue of eradication. It is not like the people of the two vehicles, who take their own freedom from afflictions to be liberation.
