第八師云「此經以常住為宗。所以然者，大論佛教所宗在常，是故此經以常為宗。但教門未極止，是覆相明常耳。」

The eighth master stated: "This sūtra takes eternal presence as its central tenet. Why is this? In the Great Treatise, that which is taken as the central tenet of the Buddha's teaching lies in eternity; therefore this sūtra takes eternity as its central tenet. It is only that the teaching has not reached the ultimate, merely clarifying eternity in a veiled manner."
