答：授記正明作佛，作佛是大乘正宗，故大乘九部明之。小乘授記非小乘正宗，故小乘九部不說。所以《法華》中明九部，但為趣涅槃也。

Answer: Prediction specifically clarifies becoming a Buddha, and becoming a Buddha is the primary doctrine of the Mahāyāna; therefore, the nine divisions of the Mahāyāna clarify it. Prediction in the Hinayāna is not the primary doctrine of the Hinayāna, so the nine divisions of the Hinayāna do not speak of it. Hence, when the nine divisions are clarified in the Lotus Sūtra, it is solely for the purpose of proceeding toward nirvāṇa.
