問：身子皆是退大取小人，故云「三萬億佛所修學大乘」，則知先為退大取小人也。

Question: Śāriputra and the others are all people who regressed from the Mahāyāna to adopt the Hinayāna, as it is said, "Under thirty thousand koṭis of Buddhas, they practiced and studied the Mahāyāna"; thus we know it was first for those who regressed from the Mahāyāna to adopt the Hinayāna.
