答：非無佛之言教，為會小教歸一大教，故云「我此九部法，隨須眾生說，入大乘為本」，故教有也。究竟之果既無，不可會歸一果，如不可從化城歸寶所也。

Answer: It is not that there are no verbal teachings of the Buddha; in order to converge the small teachings and return them to the one great teaching, it is said: "This ninefold Dharma of mine is preached according to what sentient beings need, taking entry into the Mahāyāna as the root"; hence the teachings are existent. Since the ultimate fruit does not exist, it cannot be converged and returned to the one fruit, just as one cannot go from the conjured city and return to the treasure trove.
