問：若非後聖則應凝然常住，下云「復倍上數」猶是無常，故知應未成也。

Question: If he is not a later sage, he should be unchanging and permanently abiding. Below it says "again doubling the number above," which is still impermanent; therefore we know he should not yet have attained [Buddhahood].
