《毘曇》「無貪相應思及起身口業」用為檀體。有人言：諸心數內別有捨數名為檀體。有人言：施心財物及以受者因緣和合名為施體。

The *Abhidharma* takes volition associated with non-greed and the bodily and verbal actions arising from it as the essence of giving. Some say: among the various mental factors, there is a separate factor of relinquishment that constitutes the essence of giving. Some say: the harmonic convergence of the mind of giving, the material goods, and the recipient constitutes the essence of giving.
