初明佛在世時修行菩薩，今明佛滅度後修行菩薩，略舉二門總攝一切行。
The first clarified the bodhisattvas practicing while the Buddha was in the world; now it clarifies the bodhisattvas practicing after the Buddha's parinirvāṇa. Briefly citing these two gates subsumes all practices.
