It tallies exactly. Emitting light signifies expounding the fruit of impartial great wisdom, hence it now clarifies the wonderful Dharma attained by the Buddha sitting in the bodhimanda. Raining flowers and shaking the earth signify that those being transformed will attain Buddhahood, hence it now clarifies conferring prophecies; within the three cycles, prophecies are conferred on people of the three faculties, and the 'Dharma Master Chapter' generally confers prophecies on all ordinary mortals. However, emitting light directly signifies expounding the fruitional Dharma attained in the bodhimanda; Guangzhai should not have said that the initial portion of the sūtra clarifies the cause, thereby losing the intention of the omen of light. Among the omens capable of signifying, first the Buddha's dependent fruition was manifested, and seeing the Buddhas clarifies the primary fruition; the omens capable of signifying clarify both the dependent and primary fruitions of the Buddha, which signifies directly expounding the Buddha-fruit, not the meaning of clarifying causes. Thus, what is signified is a pair of cause and fruit, while what signifies are the two kinds of dependent and primary [fruition].
