「爾時文殊師利」下，第六、答問序。前明將彼顯此，今明文殊以古證今。將彼顯此者，釋迦之放光、彌勒之偈頌，將他方七事以顯此土應說一乘。文殊將古以證今說者，明古佛說之前、釋迦順同於後。

From 'At that time Mañjuśrī' downward is the sixth section: the prologue to answering the questions. Previously, it clarified using that to illuminate this; now it clarifies Mañjuśrī using the ancient to verify the present. Using that to illuminate this refers to Śākyamuni's emission of light and Maitreya's verses using the seven matters of other regions to illuminate that this land ought to expound the ekayāna. Mañjuśrī using the ancient to verify the present expounding clarifies that what ancient Buddhas expounded before, Śākyamuni accords with and matches after.
