三說義中別自有科，如彼廣說。就法說中開為四段：第一、從此文去竟〈方便品〉正明法說；第二、〈譬喻品〉初一長行一偈明上根人領解；第三、從「爾時佛告舍利弗」竟「為諸聲聞說大乘經，名妙法蓮華經，佛所護念」，明如來述成；第四、從「舍利弗！汝於未來世」竟「盡迴向佛道」，明授上根人記。

Within the meaning of the three preachings, there are separate analytical rubrics, as explained in detail there. Within the doctrinal preaching, it opens into four parts: first, from this text up through the end of the "Expedient Means Chapter", it directly clarifies the doctrinal preaching; second, the initial prose passage and one verse of the "Parable Chapter" explain the comprehension and understanding of those of sharp faculties; third, from "At that time the Buddha addressed Śāriputra" up through "preached the Mahāyāna sūtra for the śrāvakas, named the Lotus Sūtra of the Wondrous Dharma, protected and kept in mind by the buddhas", it clarifies the Tathāgata's affirmation; fourth, from "Śāriputra! You in a future age" up through "dedicating all toward the Buddha path", it clarifies the conferment of prophecy on those of sharp faculties.
