5.49

《婆沙》云「波羅蜜聲聞必前證初果後成羅漢，法如是故」。有人言：身子博學多聞，於世俗智慧勝、於入道智慧劣，故不及取衣時有煩惱、取衣已無煩惱人也。

The Vibhāṣā says: 'A pāramitā-śrāvaka must first realize the first fruit and later become an arhat; this is the nature of things.' Some say: Śāriputra was widely learned and heard much; his wisdom regarding worldly matters was superior, but his wisdom for entering the Way was inferior; hence he was not equal to those who have afflictions when taking up the robes and are free from afflictions once having taken them up.
