「上妙細㲲」者，以㲲覆縟，其用有二：一以遮垢，二以嚴飾。一乘之義亦備二義：一者、禪定垢過多生染著，真解能亡，有遮垢之義。二者、定由慧成，有嚴飾之義也。「有大白牛」下，頌上牛也。「多諸儐從」者，頌上儐從。「以是妙車」下，第二、頌等賜也。

"Superfine, delicate fabrics": covering the cushions with fabric has two uses: first, to keep away dirt; second, to adorn. The meaning of the ekayāna also possesses both meanings: first, the impurities and faults of dhyāna-concentration generate much attachment, but true understanding can eliminate them, which has the meaning of keeping away dirt; second, concentration is accomplished through wisdom, which has the meaning of adorning. From "There are great white bullocks" downward, it versifies the bullocks above. "Having many attendants and followers" versifies the attendants above. From "With these wonderful carriages" downward, the second part versifies the equal bestowal.
