「若有利根」下，第二、廣釋勸義。亦開為二：初、明為十人說；第二、總結。別明十人則為十段，故亦得開為五雙：初、過現一雙，現在利根，過去值佛。第二、出處一雙，出則慈悲四生，處則獨靜山澤。第三、內外一雙，外則捨惡近善友，內則持戒清淨。第四、自他一雙，自則質直無瞋，他則為眾說法。第五、始終一雙，始則一心求法，終則頂受修行。第二、結勸，如文。

From "If there are those of sharp faculties" downwards is second: an extensive explanation of the meaning of encouragement. This also opens into two: first, clarifying preaching for ten kinds of people; second, the general conclusion. Specifically clarifying the ten kinds of people constitutes ten sections, which can also be divided into five pairs. First, the pair of past and present: sharp faculties in the present, encountering buddhas in the past. Second, the pair of engagement and seclusion: when engaged, having compassion toward the four modes of birth; when secluded, residing alone in tranquility in the mountains and marshes. Third, the pair of internal and external: externally, abandoning evil and associating with good friends; internally, keeping the precepts pure. Fourth, the pair of self and other: for oneself, upright and free from anger; for others, preaching the Dharma for the assembly. Fifth, the pair of beginning and end: at the beginning, seeking the Dharma with single-minded devotion; at the end, receiving it atop one's head and putting it into practice. Second, the concluding encouragement is as in the text.
